Aden Authorities Deny The “STC” Claims And Warn Against Dragging The City Into Chaos

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:
The local authority in the temporary capital, Aden, confirmed that what was stated in the alleged statement attributed to the so-called “dissolved Southern Transitional Council” (STC) are baseless claims aimed at misleading the public and destabilizing the city.
In a statement responding to one issued by the “dissolved STC,” Aden authorities warned against attempts to drag the city into chaos and threaten social peace, noting that these claims come at a time when official efforts are being unified to enhance security, activate state institutions, and reinforce stability.
They clarified that the measures taken by the competent authorities fall within their legal duties to enforce the law and recover state properties that had been seized during previous periods, stressing that these steps do not target any political group.
Aden’s local authorities firmly denied any intention to restrict political activity or undermine freedom of expression, affirming that Aden will remain open to all groups within the framework of compliance with applicable laws.
The statement warned against responding to what it described as “suspicious” calls aimed at stirring chaos, urging citizens to remain aware and not be drawn into incitement campaigns that threaten public tranquility.
It stressed that security forces will continue carrying out their duties to maintain order and protect public and private property, affirming their commitment to continuing the path of development and strengthening the rule of law.
The local authority concluded its statement by emphasizing that the interests of Aden and its people come above all else, calling on all political components and forces to adhere to the legal frameworks regulating political activity in the country.
Earlier in the evening, the dissolved Southern Transitional Council had issued a statement calling for a mass rally next Wednesday in Aden, protesting what it described as attempts by “de facto authorities” to silence voices and shut down its offices.
