Urgent Saudi Aid Delivered to Victims of Displacement Camp Fire in Al Mahrah, Eastern Yemen

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center distributed emergency shelter assistance to families affected by a fire that broke out at the Nishtun IDP Camp in Al Ghaydah, located in Al Mahrah Governorate. The aid was provided as part of the fifth phase of the Emergency Response Plan for Yemeni governorates.

According to the organizing agency, the assistance was delivered on Tuesday through its local partner, Al-Khair Coalition for Humanitarian Relief. The relief package included 42 tents and 42 shelter kits containing essential supplies, benefiting approximately 252 internally displaced persons whose shelters were damaged or destroyed by the fire.

The emergency response aims to provide immediate shelter and alleviate the suffering of affected families by securing basic necessities and helping improve their living conditions in the aftermath of the disaster.

Project officials stated that the intervention is part of ongoing humanitarian efforts focused on rapid responses to emergencies and natural disasters. Field teams have been deployed to deliver shelter and relief assistance as quickly as possible to those in need.

Several local officials and humanitarian representatives attended the distribution process, including Saleh Hafez Al-Sulaimi, Murad bin Aqil, Abdul Latif Abdulwali Mohammed, and Ayman Mohammed Mazyoon.

The assistance forms part of broader humanitarian efforts supported by Saudi Arabia to address the needs of internally displaced people and vulnerable communities across Yemen.
