Yemen Monitor/Newsroom:
Yemenia Airways announced on Wednesday the cancellation of several flights over the past few days due to emergency security and regional conditions in the area, emphasizing that the decision was beyond the company’s control.
The company’s official spokesperson, Hatem al-Shaabi, stated in a press release that the airline offers its sincere apologies to passengers affected by the cancellations, explaining that the safety of passengers and flight crews is the national carrier’s top priority.
Al-Shaabi added that the cancellation decision was taken as a precautionary measure to maintain the safety of passengers and crews, noting that the company will not resume flights until security conditions in the region are confirmed to have improved.
He confirmed that the company is currently evaluating the situation on a daily basis, expecting a gradual resumption of flights as soon as appropriate conditions are available, with new schedules to be announced in due course.
The statement explained that the company will contact all affected passengers directly to rearrange their bookings, either by rescheduling flights or providing alternative options, including the possibility of ticket refunds or transferring them to later flights.
Al-Shaabi concluded by expressing the company’s appreciation for the passengers’ understanding and patience during these exceptional circumstances, reaffirming the airline’s commitment to making every effort to resume operations and provide the best services as soon as operations return.
