Yemeni Defense Ministry Continues Moves to Unify Military Formations

Meetings of the Yemeni Minister of Defense, Lt. Gen. Taher Al-Aqeeli, in the government of Shaya Al-Zindani, continued in Aden, during which he emphasized efforts to unify data systems and electronic governance within the Yemeni army.
During his meeting today with heads of military bodies, commanders of military regions and axes, and directors of Defense Ministry departments, Al-Aqeeli affirmed the need to strengthen the administrative system and work toward unifying data in a way that enhances efficiency, transparency, and institutional discipline.
He stressed the importance of ending manifestations of duplication, violations, and negligence in carrying out duties, and adhering to regulations that clearly define everyone’s responsibilities and tasks.
Lt. Gen. Al-Aqeeli explained that the current phase requires intensified efforts, greater discipline, and teamwork, contributing to restoring stability and reinforcing the authority of the state. He directed strict compliance with regulations, systems, and laws, and called for the preparation of well-considered plans that respond to the requirements of this stage. He also urged providing opportunities for young cadres and promising leaders to assume responsibility and actively participate in the process of development and institution-building.
The defense minister praised the significant sacrifices made by the martyrs and wounded of the armed forces for the sake of the nation, affirming that these sacrifices will not be in vain and will remain a source of lasting appreciation and loyalty until liberation is completed and state institutions are restored.
Lt. Gen. Al-Aqeeli listened to interventions from regional commanders and department directors, who affirmed their commitment to enhancing performance and raising the level of readiness and discipline within the armed forces.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Chief of the General Staff Maj. Gen. Ahmed Al-Basr; Assistant Minister of Defense for Logistics Maj. Gen. Saleh Hassan; Assistant Minister for Human Affairs Maj. Gen. Mohammed Batis; Deputy Inspector General of the Armed Forces Maj. Gen. Mesfer Al-Harithi; Head of the Intelligence Authority Maj. Gen. Ahmed Al-Yafei; Head of the Logistics Support Authority Maj. Gen. Abdulaziz Al-Faqih; Head of the Human Resources Authority Maj. Gen. Ahmed Al-Marzouqi; and Head of the Training Authority Maj. Gen. Mohammed Al-Shaeri.
Also attending via video conference were Head of Operations Authority Maj. Gen. Khaled Al-Ashwal; Commander of the First Military Region Maj. Gen. Fahd Bamoumin; Commander of the Second Military Region Maj. Gen. Mohammed Al-Yemeni; Commander of the Third Military Region Maj. Gen. Mansour Thawabeh; Commander of the Sixth Military Region Maj. Gen. Haikel Hantaf; and Commander of the Seventh Military Region Maj. Gen. Mohammed Rassam.
This marks the third meeting held by Minister Al-Aqeeli in Aden since his appointment, attended by commanders of the military regions in Marib, Hadramawt, and Aden, as well as heads of authorities within the Ministry of Defense, amid discussions about unifying the Yemeni army’s data under a single umbrella within the ministry.
