Aden — Closure of The STC General Secretariat Headquarters As Part of A Campaign to Reclaim State Institutions

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:
Forces of the Giants Brigades on Monday closed the building of the General Secretariat of what is known as the Southern Transitional Council (STC) in the temporary capital Aden, in a move that comes as part of efforts to recover former government buildings and institutions.
Field sources in Aden said that the Giants Brigades shut down the “General Secretariat” building in the Goldmore area of Al-Tawahi district, one day after closing two other headquarters that the council had controlled in recent years.
Journalist Abdulrahman Anis reported that the closure targeted the General Secretariat building in Goldmore, noting that the forces began implementing the measures at the site on Monday morning.
According to official sources, the building was previously a government facility and will be reassigned as a government headquarters after the necessary arrangements are completed, as part of what was described as restoring state institutions and official properties.
This step came a day after the closure of the so-called “National Assembly” affiliated with the council, which had occupied a former headquarters of the General People’s Congress, in addition to the “Foreign Affairs Authority” office, whose building originally belonged to the Saba News Agency.
