Mothers of Abductees in Aden Hand Over List of Disappeared to General Al-Subaihi, Call for Implementation of Presidential Directives

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:
The Association of Mothers of Abductees in Aden organized a protest this morning in front of the Ma’ashiq Palace to demand information on the fate of the forcibly disappeared. Following the protest, the association met with General Mahmoud al-Subaihi, a member of the Presidential Leadership Council, in the presence of Nasser al-Subaihi, the head of the Prisons Division.
During the meeting, the Association handed over a list containing the names of the disappeared, emphasizing the need to translate new presidential directives into reality and to work seriously toward closing this humanitarian file.
For his part, General Al-Subaihi welcomed the Association, praising its efforts and reaffirming his commitment to following up on the cases of the abducted and disappeared.
The Association noted that it turned to General Al-Subaihi after approaching several other official bodies. They stated that the current stage requires greater coordination between the government and active stakeholders to end the suffering of families and to hold those involved in the disappearance and torture of civilians accountable.
Furthermore, the mothers expressed growing fears regarding the fate of their sons, amid reports of empty secret prisons and the appearance of some previously disappeared individuals on the streets—developments they say demand urgent and transparent action.
The Association concluded by reaffirming its commitment to peaceful advocacy until all abductees and disappeared persons held by various parties are released, urging that this issue be made a national priority to achieve stability.
