A security campaign in the Al-Madaribah and Ras al-Ara districts of Lahj Governorate (southwestern Yemen) seized a large quantity of the narcotic Captagon today, Monday.
The media center for the security campaign reported that the naval formation successfully intercepted a boat off the coast of Al-Madaribah carrying a massive shipment of Captagon tablets and arrested four individuals on board.
The center detailed that the shipment consisted of 450 bags, each containing 1,000 pills, in addition to five large sacks filled with substantial quantities of narcotics. This is considered one of the largest seizures ever recorded in the region.
The media center confirmed that the seized narcotics have been processed according to legal procedures and referred, along with the suspects, to the competent authorities for further investigation and legal action.
The security campaign, led by the Giants Forces under the command of Brigadier General Hamdi, focuses on combating smuggling in the Al-Madaribah and Ras al-Ara areas, which overlook Bab al-Mandab Strait and the coastal areas adjacent to Aden.
