Prime Minister Orders Investigation into Storming of “Aden al-Ghad” Newspaper Headquarters
Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:
The Yemeni Prime Minister, Dr. Shayea Mohsen al-Zindani, has directed the Ministry of Interior and security agencies in the temporary capital, Aden, to launch an urgent and transparent investigation into the storming and assault targeting the headquarters of the Aden al-Ghad newspaper.
The Prime Minister emphasized that targeting media institutions and attacking journalists constitutes a serious violation of the Constitution and existing laws, as well as a direct assault on press freedom and media operations. He stressed the necessity of completing the investigation swiftly, submitting a detailed report of its findings, and holding everyone proven to be involved in this crime accountable.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to protecting public freedoms—foremost among them the freedom of opinion and expression—and its categorical rejection of any form of interference with journalistic work or the intimidation of those working within the field.
