Journalist Fathi bin Lazraq stated that armed elements belonging to the so-called Southern Transitional Council (STC) stormed the headquarters of Aden al-Ghad newspaper in Aden on Sunday morning, assaulting employees and leaving several with varying degrees of injury.
In a post on his Facebook account, Bin Lazraq explained that the armed elements used direct weapons inside the headquarters while the editorial and administrative staff were present. This led to injuries among the employees and caused a state of panic and chaos.
He noted that the raid was accompanied by extensive acts of vandalism, including the total destruction of the office contents and the looting of equipment and property, resulting in a complete disruption of journalistic operations.
Bin Lazraq described the incident as a grave assault on press freedom and the safety of journalists. He held the relevant authorities responsible for protecting media institutions and their workers, demanding an urgent investigation and for those involved to be held accountable.
I am from Vancouver,Canada and i condemns the Attack by the STC against the Offices
of Aden Al Ghad Newspaper and injured two Staff Members. I hope the People who committed
this attack are caught and punished.
