Governor of Taiz Inaugurates the Second Book Fair

The Governor of Taiz Governorate, Nabil Shamsan, inaugurated today the second book fair, organized by Naama Rassam School under the supervision of the Governorate’s Offices of Education and Culture.

The fair includes a dedicated pavilion for Taiz University, in addition to several publishing houses and libraries, as well as authored works by students of Naama Rassam School. It also features an art exhibition organized by the Colors Forum Association for Fine Arts, and a “Productive School” bazaar displaying products created by the school’s students.

During the inauguration, attended by Taiz University Vice President for Social Affairs Dr. Yasser Al-Salwi, Director of the Education Office Abdulwasea Shaddad, and Director of the Culture Office Qasim Ibrahim, Governor Shamsan praised the good organization and the cultural momentum of the fair. He emphasized that the books and diverse cultural and artistic activities on display contribute to meeting the aspirations of the governorate’s residents and intellectuals, and help promote a culture of reading and knowledge within society.

The governor affirmed that Taiz continues to maintain its cultural presence and leadership as a city of enlightenment and the capital of culture, noting that the effects of war and destruction will not deter it from its cultural path. He stressed that the city will remain a cradle of awareness and knowledge, firmly rooted in its rich history of culture and reading.

The fair witnessed wide attendance from artists, intellectuals, teachers, and students, in an atmosphere reflecting the vitality of the renewed cultural movement taking place in the governorate.
