Hadramawt Governor Directs Completion of Key Road Projects in Mukalla According to Technical Standards

On Wednesday, Salem Ahmed Al-Khanbashi, a member of Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council and Governor of Hadramawt, inspected progress on two major road projects in Mukalla: the completion of the Al-Ghalilah–Al-Maqlab–Ambikha Road and the Middle Ring Road. Both projects are funded by the local authority in Hadramawt.

According to the governorate’s local authority media office, Al-Khanbashi received a briefing from Saleh Al-Omari, who outlined the progress of the Al-Ghalilah–Al-Maqlab–Ambikha Road project. The road is approximately 11 kilometers long and 24 meters wide.

Al-Omari explained that the project aims to reduce traffic congestion and improve traffic flow. He noted that 6 kilometers of the road have already been paved, while the overall completion rate has reached 70 percent. Excavation and earthworks have been completed, with asphalt paving and some construction work still remaining.

During the visit, Al-Khanbashi also received an update from Naif Saleh Bin Shamlan regarding the Middle Ring Road project, which extends from the Al-Ghuwayzi area to the Central Prison in Mukalla.

Bin Shamlan stated that the project is considered one of the city’s strategic infrastructure developments. It includes excavation and embankment works, as well as the construction of two reinforced concrete culverts measuring 47 meters and 37 meters in length, each with a height and width of 3.5 meters.

He added that the project has reached 84 percent completion, with a total route length of 4.4 kilometers.

Al-Khanbashi emphasized the importance of completing the projects in accordance with approved technical specifications and timelines, stressing their role in improving traffic movement, supporting urban development, and facilitating transportation and public services throughout Mukalla.
