Following Its Dissolution by Sovereign Decree: STC Remnants Incite Riots in Aden in Attempt To Disrupt The Situation

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:
Bodies affiliated with the Southern Transitional Council (STC) have announced their rejection of the dissolution decree, calling for a general mobilization and demonstrations in the streets of the temporary capital, Aden. Observers view this move as an attempt to incite riots and create instability.
This development came in a statement issued following an emergency meeting of the remnants of the Council’s bodies. Signatories characterized the dissolution decree as “null and void with no legal effect,” affirming their continued operations under the leadership of Aidarous al-Zoubaidi.
The statement included escalatory rhetoric toward the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, alongside calls for mass gatherings and protests in Aden and other southern governorates.
Analysts believe these calls are aimed at inciting chaos and rioting in an effort to disrupt the security landscape following the termination of the Council’s existence as a political entity.
Political sources emphasized that the Southern Transitional Council was dissolved using the same mechanism by which it was originally appointed. They further stated that any rebellion against the decree poses a threat to security and stability, noting that those responsible will bear the legal and moral consequences.
