The Sixth Military Zone forces of the Yemeni government announced today the downing of a Houthi drone as it attempted to carry out an attack on military positions on the Al-Jadafar front in Al-Jawf province, in the country’s northeast.
Military sources in the Sixth Zone stated that air defense units detected the drone while it was flying over government force positions before successfully engaging and shooting it down, with no human or material losses incurred.
The sources added that the drone was on a reconnaissance and attack mission, as part of attempts by the Iran-backed Houthi militia to target army positions and disrupt frontlines. They confirmed that government forces are on high alert to counter any threats.
