Yemen Gas Company Dispatches 461 Tankers to Cover Shortage in Liberated Provinces

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:

The Yemeni Gas Company announced today, Friday, the dispatch of a fleet consisting of 461 domestic gas tankers to the temporary capital, Aden, and a number of liberated southern and northern provinces. This move aims to address the supply shortage and stabilize the market following the recent supply crisis.

The company’s Executive Director, Muhsin Bin Wuhait, stated in a press release to the Yemen News Agency that the quantities transported via the fleet are sufficient to fill approximately 1,800,852 domestic gas cylinders. This will enable covering the provinces’ needs and restoring market balance in the coming days.

Bin Wuhait added that the company acted immediately after the removal of tribal blockades that had hindered the arrival of supplies, confirming that the current shipments are part of a comprehensive emergency plan aimed at preventing the crisis from recurring.

He explained that a video conference meeting was held, including the company’s department directors, officials from its branch offices, and filling facilities in the provinces. The meeting was dedicated to discussing the mechanism for implementing the emergency plan, including the reception of tankers, unloading and receiving procedures, allocation of quantities for domestic use, as well as enhancing oversight over distribution agents to ensure compliance with the official price.

The Executive Director stressed the company’s commitment to providing the gas commodity daily to the provinces and working to ensure its delivery to citizens at the set price. He affirmed that the company “is mindful of its national responsibility to meet citizens’ needs and serve the community.”
