Yemen Looks Forward to an Active Qatari Role in Supporting Economic Recovery and Government Reforms

Yemeni Prime Minister Salem Saleh bin Buraik affirmed that the Yemeni government looks forward to an active Qatari role in supporting economic recovery programs and backing ongoing reform efforts aimed at rebuilding state institutions and improving public services. He praised the steadfast positions of Qatar in supporting Yemen both humanitarianly and developmentally.
This came during a meeting held on Monday in Doha with Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, on the sidelines of the Second World Summit for Social Development, hosted by Qatar from November 4 to 6.
The two sides discussed prospects for bilateral cooperation, particularly in the fields of economy, development, energy, infrastructure, education, and health, as well as joint efforts to alleviate the humanitarian suffering of the Yemeni people caused by the war ignited by the Houthi militia.
Prime Minister bin Buraik also reviewed the government’s efforts in implementing economic and administrative reforms, and the ongoing preparations to hold the First National Energy Conference in Aden. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to a comprehensive and just peace, based on the three agreed-upon references locally, regionally, and internationally.
For his part, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani reiterated Qatar’s unwavering support for Yemen, affirming Doha’s continued backing of the Yemeni government and people in their pursuit of security, stability, and development.
