Health Minister: Al-Amal Hospital is a Qualitative Addition to Yemen’s Health Sector

The Minister of Public Health and Population in Yemen, Qasem Buhaibeh, inspected the progress of construction work today in the interim capital, Aden, at the Al-Amal Oncology Hospital in the Al-Buraiqa district. The hospital is being implemented with the support of the Hayel Saeed Anam Group and under the supervision of the National Cancer Control Foundation.
During the visit, the Minister listened to a detailed explanation from the Chairman of the Hospital’s Board of Trustees, Rashad Hayel Saeed, and the Project Manager, Engineer Khaled Sharaf, regarding the stages of implementation and the medical and structural components of the project. This included the engineering design of the hospital departments, which adheres to the latest accredited technical standards for specialized hospitals.
Those in charge of the project explained that the hospital, which has a capacity of 200 beds, includes:
- Inpatient wards for men, women, and children.
- Units for radiation therapy and nuclear medicine.
- Operating rooms, emergency rooms, diagnostic laboratories, and a blood bank.
- Modern equipment for atomic treatment and advanced diagnostic imaging, which is being prepared according to the highest international specifications.
Minister Buhaibeh praised the progress of work on the project, affirming that Al-Amal Hospital will represent a qualitative addition to the health sector in Yemen and will contribute to alleviating the suffering of cancer patients who are currently forced to travel abroad for treatment.
He indicated that the project is considered one of the most prominent specialized referral facilities for oncology treatment, calling for greater effort and accelerated pace of completion to ensure its opening as soon as possible. He commended the support of the Hayel Saeed Anam Group and its charitable foundation in serving health and humanitarian work.
For his part, the Chairman of the Hospital’s Board of Trustees, Rashad Hayel Saeed, confirmed that the project is proceeding at an advanced pace according to the latest global standards. He noted that the engineering and technical team is working with a unified spirit to complete this vital medical edifice, which reflects the group’s commitment to its social responsibility toward cancer patients.
He added that after its opening, the hospital will provide integrated medical services, including diagnosis, treatment, and psychological and social care, as part of a national vision that seeks to localize treatment domestically and alleviate the financial and humanitarian burdens on patients and their families.
