Yemen And Spain Discuss Enhancing Economic Partnership and Maritime Security in The Red Sea

Yemeni Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Shayea al-Zindani, discussed on Wednesday with the Spanish State Secretary for Foreign and Global Affairs, Diego Martínez Belío, ways to strengthen bilateral relations and expand cooperation between the two countries in several economic and developmental fields.
During the meeting, both sides discussed developments in Yemen and the region, including efforts aimed at advancing the peace process and ending the conflict, in addition to challenges related to maritime security in the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab Strait.
Al-Zindani emphasized the importance of expanding the partnership between Yemen and Spain, pointing to cooperation opportunities in the economic and investment sectors, and benefiting from Spanish expertise in vital fields, including the fisheries sector, to support economic recovery efforts and enhance development opportunities.
He also praised Spain’s support for Yemen in international forums, considering that relations between the two countries represent a suitable foundation for developing joint cooperation during the coming phase.
For his part, the Spanish official renewed his country’s support for Yemeni state institutions and international efforts aimed at reaching a political settlement to the crisis, stressing Madrid’s keenness to strengthen cooperation with Yemen in the economic, developmental, and investment fields.
