Taiz Police Announce Arrest of a Suspect in the Assassination of the Director of the Cleaning Fund

Taiz governorate police have arrested Jassar Ahmed Qasim, one of those involved in the assassination of Iftihan Al-Mashhari, director of the Cleaning and Improvement Fund in the governorate, who was killed last Thursday morning.
In a statement, Taiz Police said the arrest operation was carried out under the direct supervision of First Deputy Governor Abdulqawi Al-Mekhlafi and the Director General of Taiz Police, Brigadier General Mansour Al-Akhaly. The statement confirmed that the security campaign is ongoing to track down the remaining perpetrators, arrest them, and bring them to justice.
The crime sparked widespread public and official outrage in Taiz. The Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council and the Prime Minister instructed security forces to quickly pursue the killers. Meanwhile, the governorate’s Security Committee held an emergency meeting chaired by the First Deputy Governor to discuss the repercussions of the incident.
The Security Committee approved the launch of a joint campaign to track down the wanted men, foremost among them Mohammed Sadiq, known as “Al-Bashiq.” The committee stated that the identities of those involved are now fully known. It also ordered the raiding of homes suspected of harboring the perpetrators and issued directives to the commanders of military battalions northeast of the city to cooperate with the campaign until the suspects are captured and brought before the judiciary.
