Israeli Defense Minister Vows Yemen Will Face a Fate Similar to Iran’s

Yemen Monitor/Newsroom:

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz has threatened military strikes against the Houthi group in Yemen, following recent missile attacks targeting Israel. He affirmed, “The way in which we dealt with Iran, we will deal with the Houthis.”

In televised remarks on Tuesday evening, Katz stated, “Yemen’s fate will be like Iran’s, and whoever extends a hand to Israel will have their hand cut off.” He added, “After we struck the snake’s head in Tehran, we will also strike the Houthis in Yemen,” referring to what he described as operations targeting Iranian facilities within the escalating regional conflict.

Katz’s threats came hours after the Israeli occupation army announced it had intercepted a missile launched from Yemen. Its spokesperson reported that the air force detected the missile’s launch and engaged it with a defense system, though no material or human losses were announced.

The attack caused panic in Israel, with sirens blaring in Greater Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, and central parts of the country. Citizens rushed to shelters, and some were seen in circulated videos lying on the ground to avoid shrapnel.

Meanwhile, the US Ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee, escalated his rhetoric against Yemen, stating, “Perhaps B-2 bombers should visit Yemen,” referencing the possibility of US strikes similar to the attack on Iran’s Fordow nuclear facility. He added, “Fortunately, the amazing interception system gives us time to head to shelters until the danger passes.”
