Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:
The streets of Taiz, Yemen, witnessed widespread activity today as hundreds of teachers gathered, carrying banners demanding the payment of their long-overdue financial entitlements.
Participants explained that their protest was prompted by the failure to receive their salaries for two consecutive months, in addition to calls for improved living conditions.
The teachers noted that they have engaged in a series of protests over the past few months to claim their financial dues, yet these efforts have not yielded any tangible results.
The demonstrators demanded regular allowances and salary increases, citing the significant rise in the prices of goods and services that is severely affecting citizens.
They further highlighted that the already difficult economic conditions are worsening due to the continued delay in salary disbursements, leaving them in critical financial situations.
