Al-Qaeda Leader in Yemen Threatens Trump and Musk

Yemen Monitor/Associated Press:

The leader of Al-Qaeda’s branch in Yemen has threatened US President Donald Trump and billionaire Elon Musk over the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip.

This is his first video message since assuming leadership of the group last year.

Saad bin Atef al-Awlaki’s half-hour message, which circulated online early Saturday via supporters of Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP), included calls for lone wolves to assassinate leaders in Egypt, Jordan, and Arab Gulf states over the war that has devastated Gaza.

The video featuring al-Awlaki’s speech showed images of Trump and Musk, as well as US Vice President J.D. Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Secretary of State Pete Hegseth. It also included images of logos from Musk’s companies, including the electric car manufacturer Tesla.

Al-Awlaki said: “There are no red lines after what has happened and is happening to our people in Gaza, and reciprocity is legitimate.”

Although the organization is believed to have weakened in recent years due to infighting and US drone strikes that killed its leaders, it has been considered Al-Qaeda’s most dangerous branch.
