Yemenia Airlines Announces Resumption of Direct Flights Between Sana’a and Amman Starting Saturday

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:

Yemenia Airways announced on Friday the resumption of its direct flights between Sana’a International Airport and Queen Alia International Airport in the Jordanian capital, Amman, starting Saturday, May 17, 2025.

This move comes after the completion of necessary maintenance work at Sana’a Airport and the acquisition of all required operational permits from the relevant Jordanian authorities, to whom the airline extended its gratitude for their cooperation.

In its statement, the airline affirmed that the resumption of flights reflects its commitment to restoring effective operations in coordination with the staff of the Ministry of Transport and the Yemeni Civil Aviation Authority. The airline also acknowledged the challenges it faced in recent times due to exceptional circumstances.

Yemenia expressed its appreciation to the public for their “trust and support,” reiterating its determination to uphold international safety standards and improve the quality of services provided to passengers.

The airline also announced that booking priority will be given to patients, stranded individuals, and students, calling on everyone to understand the current conditions the company is facing.

It is worth noting that this step follows a suspension of direct flights between the two countries due to Israeli airstrikes on Sana’a Airport, which is under Houthi control, rendering it temporarily unserviceable.
