Houthis: 10 Casualties in Israeli Airstrikes on Hudaidah and Al-Salif Ports

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:

The Houthi group announced on Friday that 10 civilians were killed or wounded as a result of Israeli airstrikes targeting Yemen’s western Hudaidah province.

According to the Houthi-controlled Ministry of Health, the strikes on the ports of Hudaidah and Al-Salif resulted in the death of one person and injuries to nine others.

For its part, the Israeli occupation forces issued an official statement confirming that fighter jets had carried out airstrikes on the Hudaidah and Al-Salif ports, claiming to have destroyed Houthi military infrastructure.

The Israeli military alleged that the targeted ports were being used “to transport military equipment,” calling it an example of “Houthi exploitation of civilian infrastructure for combat purposes.”

In response to the attacks, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that his country “will not allow the Houthis to threaten its security,” adding that the recent strikes were “only the beginning,” and vowing “more powerful blows targeting Houthi leadership and military structures.”

He also accused Iran of “supporting and directing the group,” warning that the Houthis “will pay a heavy price.”

In a related development, Israeli media outlets quoted a senior security official as saying that the goal of the latest operations in Yemen is “to undermine the Houthi economy” and impose a counter-blockade in response to the group’s threats to disrupt maritime navigation in the Red Sea.
