U.S. Airstrikes Target Sites in Southern and Western Sana’a

Yemen Monitor | Newsroom:
On Friday evening, U.S. aircraft launched a series of intense airstrikes targeting Houthi positions and camps in the southern and western outskirts of the Yemeni capital, Sana’a.
Houthi-affiliated media reported that US warplanes carried out six airstrikes on Bani Hushish District, east of Sana’a.
The reports also indicated that a series of U.S. airstrikes targeted the Al-Hafa military camp in central Sana’a, though no further details were provided.
The strikes followed a deadly U.S. attack Thursday night on Ras Issa oil port in Yemen’s western Al-Hudaidah province, which killed 80 Yemenis and wounded dozens more.
For its part, the U.S. military announced that its forces had destroyed Ras Issa oil port on Thursday, describing the operation as part of efforts to cut off supplies and financial resources to the Houthis.
It is worth noting that the U.S. air campaign came in response to Houthi threats to resume attacks on international shipping.
