Houthi Media: 17 Killed in Airstrikes on Oil Port in Western Yemen

At least 17 people were killed and dozens injured on Thursday in U.S. airstrikes targeting an oil port in western Yemen, according to two sources working at the port who spoke to Yemen Monitor, as well as Houthi media outlets.

Houthi-run media cited the Red Crescent as saying that the 17 victims were workers and employees at the Ras Issa oil port in As-Salif District, Al-Hodaydah Governorate, western Yemen. The number of injured was reported to be in the dozens.

Earlier, Yemen Monitor sources reported that at least four airstrikes targeted the port’s loading platform at the strategic facility. Al-Masirah TV, operated by the Houthis, said a series of strikes hit the port.

While the strikes were underway, U.S. Central Command stated that the Ras Issa oil port had been destroyed.
