Yemeni Army Recaptures Camp from STC in Shabwah
Yemen Monitor / Marib / Exclusive:
Military sources stated late on Thursday night that Yemeni Army forces recaptured a strategic camp in Shabwah governorate (eastern Yemen) just hours after it was seized by the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) forces.
Sources told “Yemen Monitor” that the Second Mountain Infantry Brigade launched a surprise attack, successfully reclaiming the “Arin” Camp (located between Shabwah and Marib governorates) after a bloody battle with STC forces.
Casualties, including dead and wounded, were reported among the STC forces, though no further details were provided.
The sources spoke on condition of anonymity as they were not authorized to speak to the media.
The STC forces had taken control of the camp on Wednesday morning after brief clashes with the government forces stationed there, coinciding with the STC’s seizure of Hadramowt Valley.
