15 Traffic Accidents in Yemen in One Day Leave 5 Dead and 24 Injured

Roads in the liberated governorates (from the Houthis) recorded 15 traffic accidents during the recent period, resulting in the deaths of five people and injuries to 24 others, in addition to material losses estimated at around 5 million and 350 thousand Rials, according to statistics issued by the General Directorate of Traffic Police at the Ministry of Interior.

The traffic report clarified that the injured were divided into 7 severe injuries and 17 minor injuries, while the accidents varied between 7 pedestrian run-over accidents, 4 collision accidents, and 4 rollover accidents.

Marib Governorate topped the list of governorates in terms of the number of accidents, recording 4 traffic accidents, followed by coastal Hadramawt, Hadramawt Valley, and Lahj Governorate with 3 accidents each, while the West Coast sector recorded two accidents.

The report noted that fatalities were concentrated in coastal Hadramout and Hadramawt Valley with two deaths in each governorate, in addition to one death in Lahj Governorate.

The traffic police called on drivers to adhere to traffic rules and regulations and to drive with caution to avoid accidents and ensure the safety of road users.
