27 Passengers from Socotra Rescued After Being Stranded at Sea for Four Days

The Yemeni Coast Guard successfully rescued 27 passengers on Sunday whose boat had broken down at sea, leaving them stranded for four days.
Director of Coast Guard in Al-Mahra Governorate, Brigadier General Abdulqader Al-Mehdhar, explained that search and rescue teams responded to a distress call from the boat “Al-Sultan Marina” after it suffered a technical failure approximately 65 nautical miles off the coast. Following a search and rescue operation that lasted more than 14 hours, they managed to reach the boat, secure everyone on board, and tow it safely to the port of Nishtun, according to Saba News Agency.
He added that the operation was carried out through coordination and joint cooperation between the Coast Guard, the local authority, and relevant agencies, utilizing all available resources to ensure the mission’s success and preserve the lives of the passengers.
The passengers on board expressed their gratitude and appreciation to the Coast Guard teams and all parties involved in the rescue operation.
