Member of the Presidential Leadership Council and Governor of Hadramawt, Salem Ahmed Al-Khanbashi, sponsored on Sunday the signing of a memorandum for the training and qualification of 30 technical midwives in Ad-Dis Ash-Sharqiya District, east of the governorate, with the aim of enhancing reproductive, maternal, and child health services.
According to an official statement, the training program is implemented by the Institute of Health Sciences and funded by a philanthropist, in response to the need to supply the health sector with specialized cadres in the district.
Al-Khanbashi said that the initiative represents an important step toward addressing the shortage of specialized health cadres and improving the quality of services provided to pregnant women and newborns, especially in areas suffering from a scarcity of health expertise.
He emphasized the local authority’s support for specialized programs that contribute to raising the efficiency of the health sector and meeting the basic needs of citizens, stressing the importance of partnership among government entities, educational institutions, and donors in promoting the sustainability of health services.
He pointed out that qualifying local cadres reflects positively on the level of healthcare in the districts of coastal Hadramawt and contributes to improving reproductive, maternal, and child health indicators.
The training memorandum was signed on behalf of the Ministry of Public Health and Population office in coastal Hadramawt by the Director General, Dr. Ahmed bin Nuwaiser, while it was signed on behalf of the Institute of Health Sciences by the institute’s director, Dr. Muhammad Lardhi.
