Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council member, Abdullah Al-Alimi, met on Thursday with Prime Minister Shayea Mohsen Al-Zindani to discuss executive measures related to improving citizens’ living conditions, foremost among which is approving the cost-of-living allowance for state employees, and paying delayed annual bonuses and job settlements.
The meeting reviewed mechanisms for activating these decisions to ensure the alleviation of economic suffering from the shoulders of citizens, alongside practical steps to reactivate the Supreme Tender Committee and activate oversight bodies to enhance transparency and reduce financial waste.
Al-Alimi listened to a detailed explanation from the Prime Minister on the steps taken by the government to address the economic deterioration, improve the efficiency of public spending, and develop revenues so that the state can fulfill its inevitable obligations, top of which is the regular payment of public sector employee salaries and the provision of basic services.
The Presidential Leadership Council member confirmed the Council’s full support for the recent economic and financial decisions and measures, pointing out that protecting the national economy and restoring its administrative balance requires enhancing coordination between the government, the Central Bank, and local authorities in governorates under the control of the legitimate government.
Al-Alimi also noted that the current phase requires solidarity to protect state institutions and create a suitable environment for investment and development, while praising at the same time the financial and economic support provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and regional and international partners to back the path of economic recovery in the country.
