President al-Alimi to German Official: Supporting the Government Until the State is Restored is a Guarantee for Regional and International Security

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:
The Head of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council, Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, affirmed that supporting Yemeni state institutions and resuming the presence of international development bodies represents a “direct investment” in national and regional security and stability.
During his reception of the Vice President of the German Parliament (Bundestag), Omid Nouripour, in Riyadh on Sunday, al-Alimi expressed his aspirations for increased German and European support to bolster the economic and financial reforms being implemented by the government.
He emphasized that sustainable peace in Yemen will not be achieved by rewarding coup militias, but rather through supporting the national state, protecting pluralism, and deterring the armed political project of the Houthi group, which rejects equal citizenship and targets minorities and civil rights in areas under its control.
The Head of the Leadership Council explained that the government relies on its international partners, led by Germany, in institutional capacity-building programs and humanitarian interventions. He pointed out the necessity of correcting misleading narratives promoted by some platforms regarding the reality of the conflict in Yemen as a front for a cross-border regional project.
In the context of political files, al-Alimi renewed the Leadership Council’s commitment to a responsible resolution of the Southern Issue through a comprehensive dialogue that recognizes political and social diversity. This process is currently being prepared under the auspices of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to ensure a fair and sustainable political horizon.
