Taiz Security Announces Arrest of Primary Suspect in Assassination of Lieutenant Amr al-Shimiri

The Taiz Governorate Police (southwestern Yemen) announced on Sunday the arrest of the primary suspect in the assassination of one of its officers, an incident that occurred last week.
The Security Media Center stated in a report that police authorities arrested one of the main suspects late last night in the assassination case of Lieutenant Amr al-Shimiri, an officer in the Taiz Governorate Narcotics Department.
The report revealed that security forces apprehended the accomplice in the assassination after having successfully arrested the first suspect at an earlier time.
Lieutenant Amr al-Shimiri, an officer in the Anti-Narcotics Department, was assassinated on April 20 in the center of Taiz city after being fired upon by unidentified gunmen.
