Aden Governor Restructures Land Protection Battalion with New Leadership

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:

The Minister of State and Governor of the temporary capital Aden, Abdulrahman Sheikh, issued on Sunday a decision to restructure the leadership of the Land Intervention Battalion (the battalion tasked with handling land disputes), days after the former commander submitted his resignation.

The decision stipulated the appointment of Colonel Saleh Abdo Nasser Al-Hawshabi as commander of the Land Protection Battalion.

It also appointed First Lieutenant Ali Mahmoud Hussein as battalion chief of staff, Captain Abdulsamad Faraj Nasser as head of battalion operations, and First Lieutenant Himam Omar Al-Hatemi as deputy for administrative and financial affairs.

The decision stated that it comes into effect from the date of issuance, obliging relevant authorities to take necessary implementation measures and cancel any previous assignments.

Last Monday, Kamal Al-Halami submitted his resignation from the leadership of the Land Protection Battalion, five years after the battalion was formed and he was appointed at its head, during the period of the Transitional Council’s control over Aden.
