High-Level Government Delegation Arrives in Taiz to Inspect Conditions and Services

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:

A government delegation arrived in the city of Taiz today, Tuesday, to inspect the general conditions in the governorate, which is the most populous in Yemen.

A government source stated that the delegation is headed by the Minister of Local Administration, Badr Basalma, and aims to examine the state of services in the governorate and assess its urgent needs.

The delegation is scheduled to review the extent of the damage left by the recent rains and floods, which resulted in the deaths of more than twenty people and affected thousands of families across various districts of the governorate.

Furthermore, the delegation will hold meetings with local authorities to discuss immediate priorities and intervention needs, in addition to assessing the scale of losses amidst the complex conditions the governorate is experiencing.

This is the first high-level government delegation to arrive in Taiz since the formation of the new Yemeni government in early February.
