Officer Killed and 5 Soldiers Wounded from “Nation’s Shield” Forces in Armed Ambush in Hadramawt

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:

An officer in the Nation’s Shield forces was killed and 5 soldiers were wounded on Tuesday morning after their vehicle came under an armed attack in the Al-Abr area of Hadramawt (eastern Yemen).

Military sources stated that a military vehicle (pickup) belonging to the Nation’s Shield forces was subjected to an armed ambush on the Al-Abr road in Wadi Hadramawt, resulting in the death of Lieutenant Colonel Faraj Tarish al-Aghbari, a platoon leader in the Nation’s Shield forces, and the injury of 5 others. The sources noted that the officer passed away in the hospital from his injuries after arriving in critical condition.

It has not yet been revealed who was behind the armed ambush, as the region extending from Al-Khash’a in the south to the Al-Wade’ah crossing in the north—reaching the eastern borders of Marib Governorate—witnesses frequent assassination incidents.
