Yemeni Army Announces Foiling Of Weapons And Military Equipment Smuggling Attempt In Mukalla

Forces of the Yemeni army in the Second Military Region announced on Sunday that they had foiled an attempt to smuggle weapons, ammunition, and explosive materials that were being transported in a civilian vehicle in Mukalla, the capital of Hadramawt Governorate (eastern Yemen).
The seized items included Kalashnikov rifles, 35mm mortar shells, as well as plastic charges and packaging materials used in the manufacture of explosives, according to official accounts of the Second Military Region.
The military region also stated that among the confiscated items was an advanced American gas detection device, noting that the operation represents a new security achievement that thwarted sabotage plans targeting the security and stability of Hadramawt Governorate.
