Yemeni Defense Minister Emphasizes Raising Readiness of the Second Military Region to Execute National Tasks

The Yemeni Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Dr. Taher Al-Aqili, emphasized the necessity of raising the combat readiness of the Second Military Region in preparation for executing national tasks.
This came during his chairmanship of an expanded military meeting in the city of Mukalla, which included the leadership of the Second Military Region, where “Al-Aqili” assessed urgent military and logistical needs.
The meeting also reviewed deployment and security plans within the region’s scope, focusing on overcoming all obstacles hindering military performance to ensure the highest levels of combat readiness and security vigilance across various fronts and affiliated sectors.
During the meeting, the Minister of Defense listened to a detailed explanation from the regional leadership regarding the workflow and level of discipline, in addition to the most prominent difficulties facing the forces. He stressed the Ministry leadership’s keenness to overcome all obstacles and provide the necessary capabilities to support members of the armed forces.
The Minister of Defense praised the heroic role and great sacrifices made by the officers and personnel of the Second Military Region during various national stages, appreciating their steadfastness and firmness in performing their national duty, and affirming that these sacrifices represent a source of pride and honor for all citizens.
This visit comes in the context of continuous field follow-up by the Ministry of Defense leadership, marking the first visit of the Defense Minister to the Second Military Region since assuming office. This reflects his direct interest in evaluating military conditions and enhancing communication with leaders and units in the field.
The meeting was attended by the Commander of the Second Military Region, Major General Mohammed Al-Yamini, and a number of military leaders, including heads of bodies and departments at the Ministry of Defense, who participated in discussing plans and trends aimed at developing military performance and strengthening coordination between various formations.
The Minister had arrived in Hadramout at the head of a government delegation that included the Minister of Local Administration and the Minister of Legal Affairs, as part of government reforms for the army and local authority.
