Directives for Urgent Aid to Victims of the Houthi Shelling in Hajjah

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:

The Chairman of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council, Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, directed that medical care be provided to the wounded and that necessary assistance be delivered to the victims of the massacre carried out by the Houthis in Hajjah, which left 30 people dead and injured, including children.

During a phone call with the Governor of Hajjah, Abdulkarim Al-Sunaini, President Al-Alimi stressed the importance of documenting this terrorist crime, which adds to the Houthi militia’s grave violations of human rights and reflects its brutal approach toward civilians, as well as its disregard for customs, morals, divine laws, and legal principles.

Al-Alimi was briefed on the details of the horrific crime committed by the Iranian-backed Houthi terrorist militia, which targeted a gathering of civilians in the Hairan District while they were sitting at the Ramadan iftar table.

He listened to a preliminary report on the effects of the treacherous attack, which resulted in the death of eight civilians, including children, and the injury of dozens with varying degrees of wounds. Some critical cases were transferred to hospitals and specialized medical centers.

The President expressed his sincere condolences and sympathy to the families of the victims, praying that God grants them His vast mercy and wishing the wounded a speedy recovery. He affirmed the state’s commitment to protecting its citizens, holding the perpetrators accountable, and ensuring that they do not escape swift punishment, God willing.
