Over the past two days, the Houthi group released four citizens after a year of holding them in detention from their homes in Ibb Governorate (central Yemen) without bringing any official charges against them, according to rights sources.
Sources told Yemen Monitor that the group released Mujeeb Al-Hanshali and Noman Al-Ammari, who were arrested a year ago in Al-Saddah District. They also freed Jamal Naji Al-Shumaili and Anwar Hamoud Al-Sulami, residents of Al-Nadirah District, after subjecting them to forced detention for more than a full year.
The sources confirmed that dozens of detainees from the governorate remain forcibly disappeared in Houthi prisons following the widespread raid campaign launched by the group in Ibb in the middle of last year.
A human rights report issued earlier by the Al-Nobala Organization revealed that the Houthis arrested 99 people in mid-2025, including the elderly and individuals with chronic illnesses, noting that the group did not allow their families to communicate with them.
