President Al-Alimi Defines Priorities of the Coming Phase for New Governors

The Governors of Lahij, Abyan, and al-Dhale’ provinces took the constitutional oath today before the Head of the Presidential Leadership Council, Dr. Rashad Muhammad al-Alimi.
The President defined for the three governors—Murad al-Halimi (Lahij), Dr. Mukhtar al-Rabash (Abyan), and Major General Ahmed al-Qubba (al-Dhale’)—the priorities of the current phase and the doubled efforts required to enhance the presence of state institutions, improve basic services for citizens, and consolidate security and stability in their provinces.
He emphasized that the three provinces hold an important position in the national equation, the battle to restore state institutions, and securing the lines of contact with the Houthi group, in addition to their importance in securing the temporary capital, Aden, combating smuggling and terrorism, and enhancing stability in the liberated provinces.
President al-Alimi stressed the necessity of unifying the security and military decision-making in the provinces of Lahij, Abyan, and al-Dhale’, and strengthening coordination with the Ministries of Defense and Interior to ensure the stabilization of security, the fight against smuggling and illegal migration, and to firmly address the phenomena of seizing state lands. He also called for the removal of illegal collection points and everything that would harm the prestige of the state and the freedom of movement for citizens and basic and commercial goods.
The President urged the implementation of the economic and service reform program, improving the performance of revenue-generating bodies, enhancing transparency, and combating corruption, while giving priority to developing infrastructure and basic services in the fields of electricity, water, roads, health, and education.
