Al-Alimi: Saudi Support is a Message of Confidence in Yemen’s Economic Recovery

Yemen Monitor/Newsroom:

Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, Head of the Presidential Leadership Council, expressed his deep gratitude to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the new economic support amounting to 1.3 billion Saudi Riyals to cover the salaries of Yemeni state employees.

He considered this support an extension of Saudi Arabia’s supportive positions alongside the Yemeni people and its political leadership, noting in a post on the “X” platform that it represents a message of confidence in the path of economic recovery and the ability of the new government to strengthen national institutions.

Al-Alimi stressed that the support highlights the close work with the Saudi team led by Prince Khalid bin Salman, Minister of Defense, to achieve a comprehensive transformation at various levels, adding that the partnership with the Kingdom is not circumstantial but a strategic choice for a brighter future.

He emphasized the necessity of everyone rallying around this promising partnership as a guarantee for building state institutions, improving the livelihoods of citizens, and achieving their aspirations.

The Kingdom announced this support yesterday, Wednesday, through the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen, in response to the directives of King Salman and the Crown Prince to fill the budget deficit allocated for salaries.

Prince Khalid bin Salman wrote in a post on “X” that in implementation of those directives, the Kingdom provided economic support to the Yemeni government to pay salaries as an urgent need.
