Yemenia Reveals Socotra Flight Prices and Plans to Increase Flights

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:

Yemenia Airways confirmed that ticket prices for its flights to the Socotra Archipelago are the lowest compared to the period before other airlines suspended operations on the route. The company stressed that any increase in the number of flights requires careful study to balance demand with available operational capacity.

The airline’s official spokesperson, Hatem Othman Al-Shaabi, said the company has recently been facing malicious rumors regarding ticket prices and the number of flights, denying the validity of what has been circulated. He emphasized that the official prices are documented and approved, and that operating the Socotra route represents a national commitment despite high operating costs, including fuel, aircraft maintenance, salaries, airport fees, and insurance.

Al-Shaabi added that the company is currently studying an increase in the number of weekly flights to Socotra and several other destinations in response to growing demand. He said the new schedule will be announced once operational arrangements are finalized, calling on citizens to report any attempts to exploit ticket prices through official channels.
