Aden Components Announce a Federal Council Rejecting “Monopoly” and Emphasizing City Stability

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:

The Aden Federal Council of Aden-based components affirmed the importance of maintaining the stability currently witnessed in the temporary capital Aden, particularly in service delivery and security aspects.

The council, announced today during a broad meeting of Aden components under the patronage of Presidential Advisor Yassin Makkawi, stressed the need to strengthen the presence of state institutions, uphold the rule of law, and normalize civil life in a manner befitting the city’s status and history.

In its statement, the council indicated that the project of an “independent sovereign administrative economic Aden region” represents a modern federal and administrative vision aimed primarily at enabling Aden to restore its leadership role and perform its pivotal economic and commercial functions within the envisioned federal state.

It emphasized that the success of any national dialogue is closely tied to genuine recognition of “political pluralism” and the rejection of all forms of monopolization of representation. Participants stressed the need to move from exclusion to equitable partnership, considering this a fundamental condition for achieving sustainable and comprehensive stability in the country.

The council also praised the political, economic, and service-related efforts provided by the Saudi Arabia, as well as the work of local authorities to improve services and normalize living conditions for citizens.
