Yemeni Prime Minister from Aden: The Government Will Work as A Team to Restore State Institutions

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:

Yemeni Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Shaye Mohsen Al‑Zindani arrived on Wednesday in the country’s temporary capital, Aden, to begin carrying out his duties from inside the country, just days after taking the constitutional oath.

According to the Yemen News Agency (SABA), Al-Zindani affirmed upon his arrival at Aden International Airport that the government’s return to the country reflects its determination to shoulder its national responsibilities and to work in a spirit of teamwork to confront economic, service, and security challenges.

The prime minister highlighted the importance of the support provided by Saudi Arabia across various fields, praising its supportive stance toward the Yemeni people and their legitimate leadership, as well as its role in supporting economic stability, strengthening state capacities, and alleviating humanitarian suffering.

He explained that the current phase requires intensified efforts and coordination with the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council and all national forces, with the support of allies in the coalition led by Saudi Arabia, to achieve the Yemeni people’s aspirations for security, stability, and development, restore state institutions, and end what he described as the Houthi coup backed by the Iranian regime.

In the coming days, the prime minister is expected to hold a series of meetings to review government performance and to develop urgent solutions for priority service, economic, and security issues.

Al-Zindani had taken the constitutional oath on February 9 before Rashad al‑Alimi, head of the Presidential Leadership Council, following his appointment as Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, along with several newly appointed government officials.
