Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:
President Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, met today, Friday, in the German city of Munich, with Kuwaiti Prime Minister His Highness Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, on the sidelines of the 62nd Munich Security Conference, where they discussed aspects of bilateral cooperation and the support required for the new Yemeni government.
During the meeting, the Kuwaiti prime minister conveyed the greetings of the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, wishing President Al-Alimi good health and the Yemeni people peace, stability, and development. In turn, President Al-Alimi conveyed his greetings to the Emir of Kuwait and to the Crown Prince, His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, wishing Kuwait and its people prosperity and progress.
The meeting addressed the latest local and regional developments and included an exchange of views on issues of mutual interest. Discussions also covered priorities for Kuwaiti economic and development support, as well as relief and humanitarian assistance, and the urgent need to meet the requirements of the new government across various sectors and essential services.
On behalf of the council members and the government, President Al-Alimi renewed his deep thanks to Kuwait—its leadership and people—for their fraternal positions and continuous support. He also referred to recent developments in Yemen, including the formation of the new government, ending dual authority, unifying security and military decision-making, strengthening state presence, and improving basic services for citizens, in the face of what he described as terrorist practices by the Iran-backed Houthis militia.
For his part, Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah reaffirmed Kuwait’s commitment to supporting the legitimate leadership in Yemen and working with brotherly nations to overcome the current crisis and achieve security, stability, and peace for the Yemeni people.
