Trial of “Ghazwan al-Mikhlafi” and 6 Others Begins for Serious Felonies in Taiz

The trial of the defendant Ghazwan al-Mikhlafi and six others began today in Taiz (southwestern Yemen) for serious criminal charges committed against several victims.

The Taiz Governorate Security Media Center reported that the Specialized Criminal Court has commenced sessions against al-Mikhlafi and his co-defendants. They are accused of a range of felonies, as well as resisting authorities and targeting members of the Taiz Police and security campaign personnel, which resulted in fatalities and injuries among the police force.

The Media Center stated that the court has begun reviewing the case files, including the reading and hearing of claims, defenses, and legal procedures as mandated by law. The session was attended by representatives of the Taiz Police, the victims’ families, and several defense and prosecution lawyers.

Taiz Police confirmed that the proceedings are following established legal frameworks to ensure justice and redress for the victims. They emphasized their continued commitment to pursuing all individuals involved in criminal activities and strengthening the rule of law.
