Emergency Forces Take Over Security of the International Highway in Al-Abr on the Saudi Border

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:

Yemeni Emergency Forces belonging to the 1st Division have taken over the responsibility of securing major checkpoints along the international highway in the Al-Abr region on the border with Saudi Arabia. This significant security move reflects a trend toward strengthening control over one of the most vital routes in eastern Yemen.

The new deployment covers the road extending between the Hadramaut and Marib governorates up to the Al-Wadeeah border crossing with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia—a strategic artery that serves as a primary lifeline for the movement of travelers and goods.

According to field sources, the Emergency Forces began their duties at vital sites stretching from “Al-Nasser Complex” to the Al-Abr junction, as well as the roads leading toward the Hadramaut Valley and Desert. This is part of a deployment plan aimed at raising the level of security readiness in the region.

The forces are focusing their mission on combating smuggling, tracking wanted individuals, and preventing any attacks or road banditry targeting passersby, thereby ensuring the security of the road and boosting the confidence of travelers on this vital international route.
