Practical Implementation of Relocating Military Camps Outside Aden

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:
On Monday, practical implementation began in the temporary capital, Aden, of the plan to relocate military camps outside the city. This started with the evacuation of Jabal Hadid Camp of army forces, weapons, and ammunition, and its handover to the Facilities Protection Force, in the presence of military and security leaders and representatives of civil society organizations.
The Minister of State and Governor of Aden Governorate, Abdulrahman Sheikh, emphasized—while overseeing the implementation—the importance of adhering to the carefully planned timetable and the necessity of withdrawing military forces from residential neighborhoods in order to preserve the capital’s civilian character and enhance security and stability in the city.
The Chief of Staff of the Third Giants Brigade, Brigadier Abu Khaled Al-Turki, explained that the evacuation of Jabal Hadid Camp represents the first phase of the approved plan to end armed manifestations inside the temporary capital, Aden, under the supervision of the Joint Forces Supporting Legitimacy. He affirmed that the plan aims to enable security agencies to carry out their duties in strengthening security and stability in the governorate.
Meanwhile, the Operations Chief of the Facilities Protection Force, Colonel Kamal Al-Kaladi, stated that the force that took over the camp is a trained security unit and will work in coordination with various security agencies to enhance security and stability, under the management and supervision of the local authority in the governorate.
The Governor of Aden stressed that implementing the military redeployment plan comes within the framework of efforts to consolidate the foundations of order and institutional governance, end armed presence in residential neighborhoods, ensure the role of specialized security agencies in safeguarding the security and safety of citizens, and enhance overall stability in the temporary capital.
