Saudi Arabia Confirms One of Its Ships Was Targeted in the Red Sea, Fire Breaks Out at the Bow

Saudi Arabia’s General Authority for Transport announced on Thursday that a Saudi-owned vessel was targeted while sailing in the Red Sea, resulting in a fire at the bow of the ship. No injuries were reported among the crew.

In a statement, the authority quoted an official source as saying that the vessel ENCELIA, owned by a Saudi company, came under attack while transiting the Red Sea. The source confirmed that all crew members were safe.

The source added that the relevant authorities had taken all necessary measures to secure the vessel and its crew, as well as implement procedures to protect the marine environment.

The statement further noted that the attack on the vessel constitutes a violation of international laws and norms that guarantee the safety of commercial ships and their crews, reiterating the importance of safeguarding maritime navigation and ensuring its security.
