Military Meeting in Aden Affirms Support for Sovereign Decisions and Enhancing Combat Readiness

An expanded meeting of the Ministry of Defense leadership in the temporary capital, Aden, confirmed today, Sunday, the Armed Forces’ support and blessing for all sovereign decisions aimed at integrating various military and security units and formations within the framework of the Ministries of Defense and Interior.
During the meeting—chaired by the Deputy Chief of the General Staff, Major General Ahmed al-Basar, and attended by Assistants to the Minister of Defense, Major General Dr. Saleh Hassan and Major General Mohammed Batis, as well as the Head of Joint Operations, Major General Saleh Hassan, along with various heads of bodies and department directors—Major General al-Basar praised the efforts made by the leadership of the “Nation’s Shield” (Dir’ Al-Watan) and “Al-Amaliqa” (Giants Brigade) forces in securing government institutions and vital facilities in Aden.
The attendees reaffirmed that the Armed Forces will remain the nation’s safety valve and the guarantee of its security and stability. They highlighted the efforts of the political and military leadership, represented by the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces), to rebuild the defense and security establishment on national and professional foundations, with generous support from the Arab Coalition led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The meeting blessed the sovereign decisions to merge different units and formations under a unified leadership and a joint operations room. This is expected to contribute to unifying military decision-making and efficiently defining task priorities.
The meeting emphasized:
- The importance of practical and field implementation of these decisions.
- Strengthening discipline and raising the level of combat readiness.
- Constant preparedness to face challenges, primarily the decisive confrontation to eliminate the terrorist Houthi militias.
The military leaders stressed that the personnel of the Ministry of Defense stand united behind the political leadership in all decisions aimed at restoring the state and its institutions and liberating Yemen. They concluded that the military establishment is proceeding in its national duties and will remain the fortified shield of the nation.
